Who are you?
Jonathon Tyler Wills and Francesca Grosso.
What is your inspiration, if any?
Fashion, music life and love, but most importantly we inspire each other for new ideas.
Where do you find your materials?
Thrift, Estate Sales and a few secret places =]
How did you both get into making jewelry?
We both had a background in making and/or changing our own jewerly. We then met and thats where it all began. It all started one summer day in Dolores Park, were we both made our first feather pieces and turned littlebird from a vision into the real deal. The name is inspired by a white stripes song we were both appreciated.

Littlebird is now available at Azalea – check out their website: www.littlebirdsf.com

Among the whole slew of celebrity designer labels coming out this season, Elizabeth & James is definitely one of the most well put together, easy to wear collection for Spring! We definitely love Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s extensive wardrobe, and now we can get some of the best pieces designed by them. What’s with the label? Elizabeth and James are the names of their younger siblings!
“Seeking to narrow the gap between designer and contemporary clothing, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen act as muses and co-designers on this new fashion label. Inspired by the mix of uptown and downtown, masculine and feminine, and casual and dressy, the Elizabeth and James collection is unique in the mixture of androgynous menswear inspired blazers and shirts with delicate mini-dresses, feminine detailing, sequins and unusual fabrics. Look to Elizabeth and James for fashion forward styles made effortless.” – from http://www.elizabethandjames.us

Even before you see the clothes, Los Angeles menswear label Endovanera (sounds like, but not limited to, “end of an era”) has the makings of an all-American classic. Founded in 2005 by David Michael Hershberger and Mitch Moseley, the fledgling label can be traced back to an old Costa Mesa boathouse-turned-studio where Hershberger spent his time hand-sewing custom jeans and where the two designers had their first serendipitous meeting.
The two quickly joined forces to launch an expanded line—with Hershberger’s by-hand patterns and sewing defining the label’s old-world vibe and Moseley’s practical perspective making the collections cohesive and wearable.
How did you come up with the name Endovanera?
“One of our close friends coined this version of the term. An ending always brings new forefront and this is where we would like to position our label.” – David Hershberger. Spring 09 Men’s collection is now available at the store! Check out their site: www.endovanera.com

“Fashion is the best form of self-expression. We like to design pieces that together form the coolest wardrobe, but is ultimately wearable. It becomes one way of thinking as individual pieces, but together creates a strong, modern and considered statement.” explains Jonny Johansson, Acne’s Creative Director.
The first full collection was launched in 1998, and it set the tone for the brand – the subtle luxury and understated items originates from the ethos that the clothes should feel like someone’s wardrobe. Cool and personal. The result is that nothing dominates anything else, yet every piece is effortlessly stylish.
We just got in Acne Spring 09 collection for men and women at Azalea, chic and simple dresses, jeans and more! Check it out at the store!

Savannah and Sienna Miller have always shared a design sensibility. They shared a flat during Savannah’s time at Alexander McQueen and subsequent freelance projects and Savannah always appreciated Sienna’s styling input and aesthetic. Savannah and Sienna named the brand after Sienna’s birthday (Dec 28th) as the liked the idea of being more abstract than a direct reference to their names.
SP 09 is the line’s second season and its inspired by “Picnic At Hanging Rock,” a film set in 1900’s Aussie. Hence the theme is soft romanticism often contrasted with puritanic details.

“KZO is the cause and effect of not being able to find the types of clothes we want to wear with high attention to detail, fabrics, fabrications, fit, global quality, and point of view.”
Joe Kazuo Knoernschild designs in L.A., but his KZO collection’s minimalist vibe and understated style has more in common with the other side of the Pacific. KZO feels more like Tokyo’s street scene than So Cal surf. Joe says KZO is lifestyle inspired with a target audience of “guys ages 18 to 35 with a taste for global style and cult fashion.” If you’re looking for casual with some sophistication, street smarts, and a few techno-inspired, personal details—like hidden iPod pockets— you’ll dig KZO.

All of us at the store have been obsessing about this brand since it came in! This season’s theme “Electric Pulse” takes you back to the 80’s, with gorgeous prints and great price points!
Since its humble beginnings in 90’s Sydney as a complimentary line of surfboards, Insight is fast developing into one of the industries most well regarded and cutting edge clothing labels, distributed to 28 countries worldwide.
Insight’s personality encompasses a lifestyle that surrounds everything surf, skate, art, music, fashion and popular culture. Designers George Gorrow (of Ksubi) and Natalie Wood don’t wish to be pigeon holed into a particular ‘genre’; they just want to design clothing that they themselves would want to wear.
To surf, skate and create. Backing up this mentality, Insight has a diverse team of surfers, skaters and artists all over the world.

Luxurious and affordable, Toywatch is my new favorite thing! I’ve secretly wanted the Rolex Daytona in the boy size, but with a look-alike from Toywatch for $295, I am sold!

According to Toywatch website:
In the fall of 2006, Milan-based designer and wristwatch aficionado Marco Mavilla designed the first TOYWATCH. A lightweight, oversized plastic watch, inspired by high design timepieces, TOYWATCH is unexpected, arresting and irreverent. Under the direction of fine-watch collector and TOYWATCH USA CEO, Randy Gordon, TOYWATCH was brought to the USA in the summer of 2006. An anti-luxury statement in a luxury obsessed culture, TOYWATCH has become the “it” wristwatch and the “must-have” item among style influentials and tastemakers. The brand ignited a firestorm in the fashion, design and accessories industries and has been heralded as a sensation by the press.
Here is a recent press on Toywatch – the colorful ones are really great too.

See by Chloe finally launched a gorgeous handbag line for Spring 09!
The concept is geared to the 18-to-30 age group, the styles such as these slouchy shoulder bags are inspired by sport bags from the ’70s. There are also glittery soft clutches, and logo-splashed cotton canvas shoppers (this is my fave). The leather is super soft and worn in, and price points are reasonable, ranging from $300-$675. Most of the styles will come towards March 09 so check back often! In the meantime, here are the styles we just got in.

Speed Freaks: Chicks on Speed and Insight Join Forces -Refinery29 Pipeline-
Posted using ShareThis

By Max Berlinger
We scoff at our holier-than-thou friends who proclaim that Electroclash is dead, six gin and tonics into the night. Clearly they haven’t spent enough time following the exploits of the ever changing mix of creative types that make up Chicks on Speed. Lucky for us the band/creative commune has collaborated with clothing label Insight to create some hyper-colorful, skate and surf inspired outfits. As what weather.com describes as a wintery mix unendingly descends upon us, this is the perfect mental vacation we needed. Ah, we just took a long, relaxed sigh thinking of groovy beach chicks wearing fluorescent bikini tops, wacky graphic shorts and pants, and chic sunglasses. Then we looked out the window and shed a tear.
Here’s some of what we got at Azalea:
