For those of you who live in a sneaker universe, Common Projects is as good as it gets when it comes to being Perfect. Hand-stitched, number stamped, they are made in Italy using the finest leathers and materials. It’s like the Mercedes Benz of sneakers. They will look better as they age too. I wish all things are likewise…

Common Projects Sneakers by Ami Kealoha

We just got in an exciting new line for men’s – Public School! They are hard to find, exclusive, with very limited distribution. Dao Yi of Public School, was Sean John’s creative director before he and his friend Maxwell launch their own label. The collection is based on their childhood experiences, growing up in NYC (hence the name Public School), it’s old school favorites combined with their current fashion taste. When Cathy picked up the line, she asked the 2 designers about their favorite piece in the collection. Both boys LOVE this classic cardigan (Jeffries Cardigan Sweater – $429), with perforated leather applique in gorgeous wine color!

Available at the store – will be up online soon.
More items:

Baldwin Zip Front Leather Jacket – $695. Price points are great for a leather jacket and you really get what you pay for. Check out the details of this jacket…

Hazen Sleeve Strap Crew Neck Shirt – $141

I thought this article below about Public School from Thrillist is fun!

Public School
High school was all about casting about wildly for the activities that would define you, like crew, and furtive masturbation. For gear that facilitates a fluid identity, check out Public School, just now in stores.
From two former Sean John-ers/NY public schoolers, PS’s dark-hued, truant-inspired gear allows you to modify your appearance on a whim — like that Wildenstein Cat Lady, except people won’t claw out their eyes as you walk by.
Marcus Prato, co-founder & brand manager of Artificial Flavor was at the store, showing our customers his line of clothing and giving out the brand’s signature underpants with purchase! The jackets are very well received, with good price points and nice details, they are great basics for San Francisco weather. Everything is in black or grey, which make things easy to layer and style. His parents also came to show support (he looks just like his dad!) – it is always great to host events at Azalea, family style!

Marcus and his dad – they look alike!!!

At Play in the Garden of EDUN: Azalea’s EDUN Pop-up Store Opening Party -Refinery29 Pipeline-
the PIPELINE: Style on Tap
By Sydney Pfaff
Check out this article by our friend Sydney – we missed her… She was an awesome team member at Azalea!

For the opening night of the EDUN pop-up shop inside Hayes Valley’s Azalea, host, Ali Hewson, head of the fair trade clothing line—not to mention, Bono’s lady—greeted a very green-friendly San Francisco crowd. Nibbling on munchies from Organic Chef Catering and sipping fruity drinks from Africa Rum, were a lively assortment of familiar partygoers, attractive hipsters, suit type, and…burly body guards? The intense amount of hired security was enough to keep one from even looking at the rack of sustainable denim or stacks of organic graphic tees. Call us crazy, but it’s a bit unsettling to be watched by large, dark-suited men while choosing your size. It was nice to know that 15% sales for the pop-up shop (open till October 20) go to ONEXONE’s Africa H2O Project. Wery peace and love, even with the added security.

What a blast! Over 700 guests crowded the Mezzanine for our show on Friday, Sept 19 to see the latest styles for Fall 2008. There were long lines at the bar for drinks – even Mezzanine people have to wait to get booze! Cathy and I sometimes can’t believe that it has been 5 years since we first opened the store. I am sure our customers enjoyed their time at the party, thanks for coming!! And, thanks a million for supporting us!

Green and socially conscience fashion label EDUN is packing it’s bags and going west. Starting October 6th at Azalea in San Francisco and November 4th at Ten Over Six in Los Angeles, EDUN opens it’s doors to two pop-up stores featuring their dreamy and darkly romantic autumn/winter collection, Nocturne (pictured). Not only is the collection beautiful in a gothic/rock n’ roll sort of way, the line, launched by Irish lad Bono and his wife Ali Hewson, is constructed entirely out of organic materials and provides employment in maturing economies. As if that weren’t altruistic enough, fifteen percent of total sales will go to the non-profits ONEXONE and H2O Africa Foundation. Listen, we always feel good after successful shopping spree, but this makes us feel even better.
